Dear Ward 1 Resident:

Thank you for the opportunity to represent you on the Westlake City Council for the last 4 years. Today, I ask for your vote to continue to make a difference in my hometown that I love. Our Westlake enjoys a high quality of life, and I want to keep it that way by being vigilant about controlling costs while investing in our future.

Westlake has been successful because of long-term planning. Over the last 4 years, I have worked with the Mayor and Council to continue that tradition:

• Developed a Master Plan for all city Recreation Athletic Fields, resulting in turf fields and recreational amenities at both Parkside Park and the Recreation Center, and proper drainage for the grass fields.
• Next up - enhancements to Clague Park fields (and a dredged and revitalized Clague Pond), as well as a new state-of-the-art Driving Range at Meadowood, and a plan for an improved Meadowood Golf Course.
• Spearheaded an update to the zoning code to better reflect today’s requirements, and to address multi-family development, tree preservation, building materials, and more. We are halfway through reviewing the code, so more to do.
• On deck is legislation to assist with addressing front ditch and backyard drainage issues.
• Advocate for improvements to the Center Ridge and Detroit corridors as well as our freeway entrances.
• Continue to work on addressing Speeding, Deer Overpopulation, Tree Preservation and other concerns you may have.  Please contact me!
